Symphony OS ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our personal operating system application.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address (via Google authentication)
- Task Data: Tasks, projects, routines, and notes you create
- Contact Information: Names and details of contacts you add to Symphony OS
- Family Information: Names of family members you add for shared tasks
2. Google Calendar Data
When you connect your Google Calendar, we access:
- Calendar events (title, time, location, description)
- Ability to create, update, and delete events
Important: We only access calendar data you explicitly authorize. Your calendar data is used solely to display events within Symphony OS and to create events you add through our interface.
3. Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: How you interact with the application (for improving features)
- Device Information: Browser type, operating system (for compatibility)
- Error Logs: Technical errors for debugging purposes
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain Symphony OS functionality
- Sync your tasks and calendar across devices
- Enable family sharing features (if you choose to use them)
- Improve and optimize the application
- Send service-related notifications (if applicable)
- Respond to your support requests
How We Store and Protect Your Data
- Secure Storage: All data is stored in Supabase, a secure PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest
- Access Control: Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data and data shared with your household
- Google OAuth: We never see or store your Google password - authentication is handled securely through Google
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties
Data Retention
- Your data remains in Symphony OS until you choose to delete it
- Completed tasks are retained for your historical reference unless you delete them
- Calendar events are synchronized with Google Calendar - deleting them in Symphony OS or Google Calendar removes them from both
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: View all data stored in your Symphony OS account
- Modify Your Data: Edit or update any information you've provided
- Delete Your Data: Request account deletion by contacting us at support@symphony-os.com
- Revoke Calendar Access: Disconnect Google Calendar at any time through Settings or Google Account settings
- Export Your Data: Request a copy of your data in machine-readable format
Google Calendar API Disclosure
Symphony OS's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We only request calendar access to display your events and create new events within Symphony OS
- Calendar data is not used for advertising or any purpose other than Symphony OS functionality
- Calendar data is not transferred to third parties (except as necessary for Symphony OS to function)
- We do not use calendar data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
Cookies and Tracking
Symphony OS uses minimal cookies and local storage for:
- Keeping you logged in (authentication token)
- Remembering your preferences (theme, sidebar state)
- Improving performance (caching)
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Children's Privacy
Symphony OS is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy

Symphony OS is hosted in the United States. If you are accessing Symphony OS from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
